Tiagabine hydrochloride potently and selectively inhibits GABA reuptake with IC50s of 67, 446 and 182 nM for [3H]GABA uptake in synaptosomes, neurons and glia, respectively. Tiagabine hydrochloride has neuroprotective properties.
